My new essential!

Took it to the shops last week and it swallowed the whole lot. Two bags of fruit, the milk, a loaf, and still room to spare. And that dragon on the front got me two compliments at the checkout.

29 YEARS OF SOPHIE & MILLIE BAGS

Twenty-nine years ago I sat down at Millie's kitchen table in Ballarat with her old sewing machine and a bin bag of offcuts. She was 32. I was 35. What started as something to fill a Sunday became a little shop built on late nights, offcuts and an awful lot of thread.

We're both slowing down now. Fewer days at the machines, more days in the garden. And there's a room full of bags here that were made to be carried, not stored. So we've put 60% off every bag in the shop, and the postage is on us.

This isn't a goodbye. It's a thank you to every woman who took a chance on two sisters and a sewing machine.

With love,
Sophie & Millie

EVERY BAG CARRIES A MEMORY

Some of the bags we sold in 2012 are still being carried today. That isn't marketing, it's just what happens when you don't cut corners on the stitching.

Twenty-nine years on, we're saying thank you the only way we know how. The bags are 60% off + the shipping is on us.

(Margaret's, bought in 2012. She sent us this photo last month.)
